Thanks for the above information. My Grandad cares for his wife who has had Alzheimers for about 3 years now. He is retired and spends all his time looking after her, so positive is that he has got the time, so can appreciate that it must be difficult for those with jobs etc. The biggest bit of advice that I can give from seeing my Grandads situation is getting family to help more or Respite care services in you local area. My grandads well-being is just as important as his wife.

Thanks a lot for sharing this nicely focused article on the stress related issues of caregivers who care for their loved one. There are two situations usually either family caregivers provide care to the elders member of family or they do not. If they are providing the care to elder member of family then there is much possibility that they can burnt out themselves while caring for elders. Sometimes it becomes extremely hard for family caregivers to take care of themselves. This article would be helpful to those i hope so.

I would recommend probably cutting the hours down to part time, and possibly take on another job part time,to take the stress off of caregiving.If it gets really stressful for you, consider another type of job in the field of work you’re in.

Thanks a bunch for your incredible tips. Our family deals with the Alzheimer’s and I think we know better than anybody when it comes to taking care of elders. There are several books about the same, but practical dealing is much more complicated. You have given some simple tips which can make us to think better and make sure our loved elders are happy and safe.
