This was an interesting interview, but there is one point I would like to disagree with. Dr. Scherer implies that the days of segregation are over and that we are now an "inclusive society". This is not really true. People with disabilities still face segregation and discrimination. Jobless rates amongst people with disabilities is unacceptably high and while accessibility is improving, the majority of buildings are still not accessible. We have a long way to go in order to consider ourselves an "inclusive society".
